Mandy Weathers's colorful watercolor and acrylic paintings center on the ever-changing colors and moods of the hills, fields and vineyards of California's Central Coast, the Colorado Rockies and the landscapes of France, Scotland, and the Caribbean Islands. She paints in watercolor and acrylic because these mediums allow her to create spontaneous color and design. Her paintings include vivid and bold landscapes and dramatic florals. Mandy's passion for color, flowers, architecture, and landscape design are all part of her artwork. Her art reflects the way she see the world.

She says, "When I can bring my joy and happiness in a subject to someone's home through my painting, I am sharing something special with others." This show will feature her new series of flower shops, Lompoc flower fields, whimsical scenes painted from the water and many other subjects.

Tesi Sanchez-Halpert says, "I try to create laughter and celebrate life itself with my whimsical critters. Now more so than ever, after surviving a life threatening stroke in 2004, I like to believe that I've been given a gift to create critters that come to life-out of items that others thought had lost their usefulness."

Tom McMillin, Professor of Art, Emeritus says, "Tesi takes the objects and tools of hard work and welds them in a way that allow them to transcend themselves and become a very personal statement. Each one of these sculptures vibrates with humor and laughter. It is an art that makes you feel good and is a constant joy to be around. Her work reflects the insight of a visual poet with the wit of a stand up comic. Her work is highly sophisticated and yet borders on the hilarious. Picasso would have been envious.

Like Tesi, her art is unique. She doesn't play into the pitfall of what is trendy or considered good art. She does her own thing. It's definitely not mainstream. Many artists draw or sculpt animals as they see them; Tesi sculpts them as she feels them. Her artwork presents to you life's special moments with insight and humor."
